At what age can a baby rride in the stroller part of the stroller without the carrier?

baby stroller
me asked:

WE have one of the snap-in ones. But she is really good at holding her head up now (6 months), so can she ride in the regular stroller part? Also, do we have to have any of the bumper padding around her head. We removed it yesterday and she seemed to be sooo much more comfortable. I thought that the padding was moreso for newborns.

My stroller reclines, so my son’s been riding in the actual stroller since he’s been born.

As long as she holds her head up good, she should be fine.

if the stroller reclines… then from birth.

I read an article recently that said that baby’s shouldn’t be put into jogging strollers until roughly 6 months of age. So, I assume that your baby should be fine in the regular part of the stroller. Make sure to keep all the pieces in your vehicle for the car seat to click onto the stroller though - it’s convient when your baby is sleeping in the car seat to just click it into the stroller and go do your shopping etc.

if she’s holding herself, then i would say now is good.

my son is a big boy, so stopped using the carrier at about 8 months or so. he’s not even 1 years old and already 31inches (as of his last appt. in december).

i removed the bumpers when he started holding his head up, so i stopped that after a few months.
