Me and my wife picked out the chicco Cortina travel system but her father in law wants to only pay $200 we want something that is VERY safe (both car seat and stroller) and easy to use. One that the car seat fits into the stroller just like the
chicco travel system.

Her father in law? Why not just say your dad? Anyway .. tell him he can just give you the $200 and you can put the other $89 toward it.

Highly reccomend the chicco car seat….but you could go cheaper on the stroller to save some money.

first of all why is the father in law paying should the mommy and addy pay for it? and anyways even a stroller at walmart is good and you can get some nice NAME BRAND one on the walmart web site

So why doesn’t he buy you a gift card worth $200, and you can either put in the rest or perhaps you’ll ger more gift cards from others? If you like it why should you have to change it? I’m all for being frugal, but he doesn’t need to make you change your options.

I like the graco travel systems. They have some that are under $200. I got the Graco quatro or something like that and it was $250, maybe you can pay the difference and get the stroller you want. But Graco has always been a good choice.
Also, if you get the babies r us coupons, they normally have 20% off ones or even $20 off a travel system. Look for those deals to save a little money.

you can get a VERY safe car seat and stroller, travel system for less than that. Thats ridiculous. But just like everyone else said if you want it so bad, then pay the difference.

Walmart has some of the same type of strollers but for less and just as safe that’s what we have and cant wait to use ours i hope it will be soon.

You can find other brands (Iike Graco) that have the same type of system and are very safe and all that, and often for a lot less. Look somewhere other than Toys R Us - some stuff there is over $100 more expensive than the exact same thing at Walmart!

I think 200 is more than enough to find a travel system. I receieved a nice one from Babiesrus when I had my son and I do not even use the stroller now. I stopped using that once he turned 2. It was just too big to have in my car to get in and out of. Here are some safe ones.

You could pay the difference yourself. Or you could look on your local Craig’s List website.
How about a snap and go stroller and the car seat from your father in law? A snap and go is way easier to use in the beginning anyways. You just snap the car seat into the framework and it pushes like a stroller but without the extra weight ad just as much safety. It’s perfect for the first 5 or 6 months.
And then you could buy a full sized stroller yourself later on (or register for it at your shower). And by then the baby would be sitting up and you could always just get a less expensive umbrella stroller if you wanted.
You can buy it at Walmart for even cheaper. And the Chicco car seat definitely works in it. I know cause I have the chicco car seat and stroller set you linked to as well as the snap n go.

I DONT THINK YOUR CONCERN SHOULD BE PRICE.. I DONT THINK THAT ANY TRAVEL SYSTEMS GO INTO THE MARKET IF THEY ARENT SAFE.. IF IN THE CASE THEY GET RECALLED THATS A DIFFRENT STORY.. ALL YOULL BE DOING IS THROWIN AWAY MONEY BECAUSE THEY EVENTUALLY GROW OUT OF IT.. I SUGGEST ANY TRAVEL SYSTEM @ TARGET. THEY ARE NICE, ACCORDING TO THE SEX OF YOUR BABY AND GOOD IN PRICE RANGE. IF YOU ARENT GOING TO HAVE A BABY SHOWER, THEN YOU PAY THE DIFFRENCE. IF NOT, THEN JUST WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU GET. YOU MIGHT HAVE A COOL FAMILY MEMBER OR FRIEND WILLING TO COUGH UP THE MONEY TO GET YOU A BUGABOO SET ( I HAD A NICE FRIEND WHO GOT US THIS) BUT TARGET IS DEFF A GOOD PLACE TO SHOP!
