Well, umbrella strollers don't usually lay down well, and that can make them less safe. Also, at 3 months she's still at an age where they don't recommend them sitting up for long periods of time.

I'd recommend just using the stroller without the car seat. Or... getting a baby carrier that you can put on your chest. She would be able to look out and see everything, or you could turn her around and she'll still be able to see a lot but snuggled up against you. My daughter never slept in her car seat or stroller but would often sleep in the carrier cuddled up against me. Courage

For a child of that age you want a stroller that has a five point harness and full layback, test drive all strollers before buying unless you are familiar with and trust the brand.

Maclaren and combi make strollers that are suitable, I don't know what other brands are available in your area, I can only recommend these two because they are reliable and available worldwide. tamara k

Im going to say no only for the fact that she may have head control but not full body control. And it could be dangerous if shes tops over...cause even if shes in the seat belt she can loop over forward and hang there (and it could hurt her).

I would stick with just putting her in the stroller by itself (you dont have to have the car seat attached to it. The bigger stroller is safer because she can be layed down, or adjuste the seat for her comfort. Shes still young...I would wait because shes only 12 lbs...thats not alot really.

I would wait until shes about 4 or 5 months old before trying it out. But it's really you decision if you want to do that... you know your baby girl we dont! If you think she will be fine, then try it out by going outside and walking around with her in the new stroller.

If all else fails....hold her LOL... shes heavy but...I had to with my son...and was so ready for him to walk...now that he walks i wish he was little again...they can get away from you quick! hard job to chase them around. Ashleigh Melendez

not a good idea for an umbrella stroller her back is not yet strong enough you can put her in the stroller that goes with your car seat though as long as it reclines. i wouldn't use an umbrella till she can sit up. Adalynn's mommy!
The BIGGEST problem with an umbrella stroller is most do not have 5 point harnesses. A 3 month old WILL fall forward with a regular seat belt. I think you'd be just fine to use a full-size stroller that reclines, just without the car seat. My daughter used to love strolling around in a reclined position. Object Permanence

My son was the same way, he's always hated laying down, especially when he can't see. I put him in an umbrella stroller at that age and he loved it. I also carried him in a baby sling that I made that he really liked too, but I had to be careful because he was breastfed and if he was hungry he got a little excited that close to my breast. buprettyinpink

The problem with umbrella strollers is that they don't have much support and the kids get a bit hunch backed on them...not permanently, but it can get quite uncomfortable until they get bigger.

They have lots of strollers now with padding and adjustable seats so you can keep them lying down or sitting up at different angles. Check out the toys r us websites for ideas.

You can probably get a good one second hand as well...

Good luck Nona said so
