Well I think most strollers are up to 40lbs, and specially the light weight ones! so getting a stroller that wont be of much use to you isnt a very good idea. Because you could ignore the the weight limit but for a couple of lbs but if your son is already 40lbs at 2 -my son was 40lbs at 4! then you wont be able to use it for much longer unfortunately.

OHH wait!! I just saw that the Maclaren weight limit is 55lbs!

This one is up to 50lbs!

Wow your little one is a big boy! My three and a half year old weighs 38 lbs :) My kids have all ran on the smaller side, so I have never run into this issue before. My Graco Quattro Tour Double stroller has a 40lb weight limit in the front and 50 in the back. The single version holds up to 50 lbs. My sister has one and loves it. But they are more expensive about $150.

Anyways, I don't think you are going to find a stroller that has more then a 40 lbs weight limit that is inexpensively priced. So I would probably either just keep using your big jeep one ( providing the limit is above 40lbs) when you do need it. Julie mama to 1 boy and 3 girls!

Yes, your son is only going to get heavier, You should look for a stroller with a higher weight limit. It isn't safe to go to much over the limit. The stroller could break with your child in it. jayne
