Can a hand brake be added to my baby stroller?

baby stroller
Rainy asked:

I am an inline skater who would like to take their baby along for the ride. I have a jogging stroller however it does not have a hand brake (like on a bicycle, not like the emergency brake on most strollers). Is there any way that I could add a hand brake to my existing stroller? Has anyone done this? Or should I just consider it a loss and pay up the $150 bucks for yet another stroller? Any input would be fabulous! Thank you
I have googled the question without much luck. I’m just looking to see if anyone else has had similar experience and what they found or suggestions they may have :-)

The break on a stroller is very much the same as the mechanical function of a break on a bicycle. Bring the stroller into a bicycle repair shop and ask them to install a hand break. Easy for them to do. The have the additional parts and the know how. Cheap job. Fast job. And I’m just guessing, but it has to be less that 150 bucks. Good Luck. Joseph

I am not aware of any add-ons for strollers but if you shop around enough you should be able to find a stroller with a handbrake for cheaper than $150. It may take a while but if you check all the right places and get some inputs from friends on where to get a decent stroller you should get one worth your money. Jan
