What are the best cars to consider for a husband and wife who might be having a baby?

And they’re not fans of SUVs — too big and use too much gas. But maybe you’d say that certain model SUVs are the way to go?
What about vehicles (like the Honda CR-V, I think) that are kind of like SUVs but are built on a car chassis rather than a truck chassis?
What about regular sedans? Minivans?
What do you recommend and why?
