That means that you keep it with you until you are boarding the plane, and then an airline employee will take it from you, put a tag on it and stow it away during the flight, and then someone at your next stop will take it out and have it waiting when you leave the plane. It's pretty convenient, and the size of the stroller shouldn't be an issue, but ask the airline just to be sure. You should be able to bring the one you have and gate-check it. I just flew with Delta and Northwest last week with my 3 month old and her stroller is very big and bulky but collapses (its one where you can put the carseat onto the stroller) and they didn't say a thing.. though seeing that your baby is a little older it might be more convienent for you to take a lighter umbrella type stroller Good luck and have fun!
