flying with a baby and stroller?
me and my husband and my parents are going to fly to vegas this december for a vacation, BUT we have a little girl who will be 1 year and 2 months at the time of vacation…how does that work flying with a baby and the carseat and stroller we need to bring?
How do you possibly take a stroller with you? Me and my husband have never flown before and so we are terrified, but my parents have and so were gonna fly with them to vegas from utah… not to far.. about 1 hour fly I guess.

You take the stroller with you through security and check it at the gate. A baby under age 2 years you can carry in arms to your seat but its really safer to get your baby her own seat and put her in her car seat during the flight. herdoula

Well personally, I would hire a stroller and a baby seat over there, because airlines do not look after your stuff, they just chuck it on the plane.. if you can afford to, buy a cheaper stroller rather then taking your good one away with you, and rent a car seat!!
Or if you have family over there, maybe borrow of them..
But i wouldnt be taking your good stuff on the plane, as they dont look after it.. Sophia

We flew to Europe and back without the stroller at all - with a 9 month old baby. We carried him in a ring sling and a wrap the whole time. It was great not having to bother with that bulky thing and the baby loved the ride!

I first flew with my son at that age too. Most airlines have a door-to-door stroller service. You simply take the stroller right up to the door of the plane and then leave it there. They store it and it will be outside the door when you land.
As for car seats, most airlines won’t let you bring a car seat onto a plane unless it is FAA approved. I just held my son on my lap for the ride. (It’s also better because then you can comfort them when their ears pop.)
Speaking of which, make sure you bring a drink for your daughter during takeoff and landing. It will help her ears to pop.
Good luck! Altrissa

You check your stroller at the gate, and shes under two and with so many laps to pass her around on I wouldn’t buy her a seat so check her car seat with your lugage. Tasha

i went on a 1hr30 flight to sydney, aus with my 3mo daughter 2 weeks ago and with the pram you take it to the area where they scan you/your items as you goto the terminal after checking in. you don’t need a car seat, you can put bub on your lap if 2< years. ♥ natalie.

I have been flying across country with my son since he was a couple months old. It’s pretty simple especially if you have people to help I do it by myself so it makes it a little more difficult, but you check the carseat in with your bags. They don’t charge you for it and they usually wrap it up in a plastic bag for you. You bring the stroller with you and at the gate they will give you a tag and when you bored you leave it at the door by the plane and they will take it and put it under neath with all the bags and have it there waiting for you when you land. I would suggest that you bring her a cup or bottle and have her drink at take off and landing cause baby’s can’t pop their ears like we can and it can cause an ear ache but if they are drinking that pops their ears for them. ashley
