How can my newborn fit comfortably in a 3 months and up stroller?
In need of guidance asked:
I was given a brand new Maclaren Quest stroller at my baby shower. Except the stroller is meant for babies 3 months and up. I was wondering if there are any tricks or things I can buy to use this stroller for my newborn when she’s born, until she makes 3 months.

she should be fine, the stroller will most likely just not lay flat which is fine kroos20

Does it not recline all the way down? You can try to pad the sides with blankets to hold the baby’s head up straight, but it might not work. The baby’s head will flop to the sides and maybe flop forward. I’d just wait to use it til he/she can hold their head up straight. Evie’s Momma

If it doesn’t lie flat then I was told you mustn’t let them stay in it for more than about an hour a day as it can be bad for the development of their spine. After 6 months its fine tho.
Try one of the head cradle cushions to make it a little more cosy. rxqueen

Don’t even try it, baby products have age recommendations because infants meet different important developmental milestones around those ages and using a product before it’s recommended can result in injury to the baby. Altering a product is also dangerous because it generally requires adding padding like blankets and pillows that can pose a suffocation risk. Just wait until she’s old enough to use the stroller. etcetera86

Unless it has a total recline feature that lays flat I wouldn’t use it.
A new born has no control over there head or body. If you put them in a sitting up stroller they will slouch over. With their head unsupported this could pinch their airway or lead to muscle issues like torticollis.
I think it would be best to wait to use this stroller until she’s able to support her own head and can sit up propped against something. Ians Mommy
