How long can I safely run with my baby in a jogging stroller?

Ice asked:

I recently bought a BOB jogging stroller and we’re ready to go for runs with our 6.5 month old baby. He sits up well and holds his head up fine.
The doctor says its fine to go running with him. My wife and I are runners and want to train for long runs. So my question is if there are guidelines on how long you can run with a baby in a jogging stroller?
I.e. 1 hour, 2 hours…

i would say until your son gets cranky. It just depends on the weather and the sun. Remember sun screen!!!

I think as long as your son tolerates it.. If hes fine riding in the stroller then go as long as you want.

I would say as long as your baby and the weather tolerate it. Dress him appropriately for the weather but don’t stay out in the sun too long. If it is a sunny day make sure he has sunscreen and a hat on.

You’ll also want to plan this between feeding and nap times if possible.

I’d say get one of those baby carriers that looks like a front pack (back back in front of you) that that it jogs with you.

also i think 1 hour would be long enough and you could add a little longer each day so that it gets more and more used to it…

I think the weather would be the biggest part of that answer. You don’t want to go too long if it is too warm. Also if your jogger stroller has a screen that would be helpful.

Babies comfort is the only consideration … I would make sure you have a good sun and weather shield such as …

After a few times out, I’m sure you’ll start to get a feel for what your child prefers.
