Personally I would take back that stroller you got and get a travel system like the other person said. the car seat transfers from the car to the stroller until they can just use the stroller alone.

you can also, like the other person said, bring the stroller to babies r us and tell them your problem. theyre usually extremely lenient with fiddling around with floor samples. i had my daughter in pretty much every swing on display that was stable and assembled on at least 4 or 5 different occasions before we decided to buy one. they'll help you find one.

My advice would be to take the stroller with you to the store when you are shopping for car seats. You can take the store sample off the shelf and see how it fits. I know Babies R Us is really good about letting you "play" with the samples.

You can get whole travel systems, with the carseat and a stroller that the carseat fits into. When your child is old enough, then they can just start using the stroller without the carseat. You should see if you can return what you have and get one of those. It would probably end up being cheaper too.

I think those adapters work with most car seats because it had a bar and the car seat fits like it does on the grocery cart. If your adapter is like that, then any seat should fit. Does the insert with the adapter have brands it works with? Good luck, sorry I wasn't more help.
