I recommend Chicco KeyFit 30… They have SUPER HIGH safety ratings and the car seat has styrofoam on the entire seat not just the back like common car seats like Graco and Evenflo.(which is what helps make them so safe) If you look under the covers on those carseats it is just hard plastic…. doesn’t seem to comfortable to me… especially as much time as a baby spends in them. The Chicco also has a infant contour system for the little newborn babies. If you have ever seen a newborn infant in a car seat, you know that there is a lot of space between the infants and the sides of the seat… The Chicco eliminates this and cuddles more around them. Now this set is a little bit more pricey, but for the comfort and most importnantly the SAFETY of my baby it is totally worth it (I was gonna go with a cheap evenflo but I decided that I wanted this so I saved for 3 months to get mine LOL and I am so glad I did) . It is not as high as peg perego and not as cheaply made like Evenflo. The nice thing about Chicco is that is good for up to 30lbs instead of the normal 22lbs.. (the longer a child is rear facing the safer they are )like the Graco and Evenflo, although I do believe Graco offers one similar. The stroller also has a higher weight limit so you will get more use out of it as well (about 50lbs… which is usually around age 5). The set runs about $300-350. Amanda

Yeah you should get a travel system, that way you get a rear-facing car seat and the stroller to go with it. Of course, then you’d need to get another car seat later once the baby grows out of that one. They’re supposed to be in a car seat until about four, and then a booster seat until about eight. So you can either pick a car seat that you can use for all four years and a separate stroller, and then a booster seat later on, or you can get the travel system, and then the forward facing car seat and booster seat later on.
I preferred the travel system myself, and I got mine secondhand for only seventy dollars. It’s Graco, I believe, and I loved it. The stroller reclined so Aidyn could lie flat when he was sleeping. Now we have, I don’t even know what brand, but it’s a good car seat and cost fifty, sixty new. I still use the stroller. And then a booster is going to be fifteen, twenty dollars.

So really anything that reaches all of the criteria for a safe stroller and car seat will do. It depends on your personal tastes. AiDYN[[9.26.08]]
