Recent mommies: what are the best baby slings, all in one strollers, and baby bath tubs/showers?
I’m going to be a new mommy in March. My hubby and I are trying to finish up our registry, but can’t seem to decide on a few last items. Any recent mommies out there have some recommendations on these items: baby slings (comfortable, easy to use preferably), a stroller that also has the baby carrier and car seat holder, and the easiest to use baby bath tub/shower center?
Thanks for the input!!

Sling: if you want a sling sling, the Maya Wrap is one of the best. If you want a soft carrier, the Ergo is fantastic. [Get the infant insert...]
Best bath: yours. Just bring baby in the tub with you.
Best all-in-one stroller: sorry, no idea. Those things look like nightmares to me. Why push a massive ugly thing when baby could be in the sling? Leave your car seat in the car; small babies thrive on parents’ touch. Dyot

My favorite bathtub is -
I love it because it circulates the water and stays warm. It also has a built in thermometer.
Any travel system by graco is awesome!!!!! Are you having a girl? If so I love this travel system! It is awesommme!!! And has a very very good safety rating!
This is also awesome! Keeps their head and body in place, My baby girl is 2 months and loves it! I have it in pink. Mommy to Lexi

The Bugaboo stroller is amazing. It has the bassinet, stroller and car seat adapter all in one. The only negative is the price but in my opinion it was well worth it poed0216

Get a sling with back support. As far as strollers just get the stroller you strap the car seat into. (see first link) Don’t get the all in one strollers the stroller that comes with it is way BIG and is a pain in the butt to get in and out of the car. Get a stroller like the 2nd link you will use it more. I like the chicco car seats. They have good rateings and can hold a child up to 30lbs. Most car seat only hold up to 20lbs. For bathing the baby baths are hard to store and clean and annoying to use. Just get the sponge you can lay them in the bathtub like link 3. Its small and easy to store. zero z

Good answers already on the sling and seat. I was going to add “the kitchen sink” for bath. Seriously, baby baths are okay but you use them for such a short time they are not worth the money. It is lots more fun to bathe them in the tub with you or standing up at the kitchen sink, where you can run enough water to actually immerse them. (My beef with infant baths is that too often the baby is only reclining halfway underwater which I think makes them cold.) Sunrise

Pouch slings are the best for newborns. I use a Polkadot Papoose. It’s extremely comfy and easy to use. Just slip it on and off. I don’t use a baby tub. Why spend money on one when you can easily give a baby a bath in the sink or right in the tub with you. I also hate travel systems. Sure, it’s convenient to leave the baby in the carseat, but it’s irritating to take the carseat in and out (I have a small car). Besides, travel systems are usually bulky and heavy. I’ll worry about a lightweight stroller when my daughter is old enough for one, but until then, I’ll just stick with the sling. Chel

Slings- I can’t recommend one brand because every mom is different and every baby is different.
I would NOT recommend a travel system. Most babies outgrow the carseat very quickly, and if they don’t outgrow it, they are too heavy to lug around. Plus, with a baby being born in March, it’ll be awfully warm to have your baby in the car seat in the stroller during the summer. I’d get a Graco infant seat and then get a really good stroller. Peg Perego infant seats are good, as are Chicco and Britax. I’d steer clear of Evenflo, Safety 1st, and Cosco (including Eddie Bauer) because they’re junk. Some strollers come with infant seat attachments, but I do not recommend a Graco stroller. They’re bulky and become squeaky pretty quickly. I am in love with my Maclaren stroller. They’re pricey but last FOREVER (we’re talking used daily with multiple kids) and still looks new after several years. The Maclaren link I gave you comes with an infant seat attachment if you really want a travel system feel to your stroller. You also can’t go wrong with a Peg Perego. I’d try to find something small and compact so it doesn’t take up a ton of room at home or in the car. Here are some strollers that I have used and like and they have good reviews, too!
As for a baby tub–just get your basic plastic tub. You don’t want one with a mesh liner because it is just a breeding ground for mold and bacteria.
EDIT: The Bugaboo stroller is fantastic–it’s my favorite, but it’s SO expensive. If you have a higher budget, the Uppa Baby is a close second, but still double the cost of the Maclaren.
If you get a carseat with a 30 lb weight limit, it won’t fit in the seat part of the shopping cart and you’ll have to use the entire basket which kind of defeats the purpose.
Also, don’t get a head support insert or anything that doesn’t come with the seat–just roll up a receiving blanket and place around baby once baby’s in the car seat. It’s never safe to put anything between baby and the seat itself because it can interfere with the seat in a crash. malwilhist

I loved the Hotsling because it was easy to use and it folded up easily to fit in the diaper bag or even a large purse. Ergo was my second favorite because it is so comfortable and lasted until my toddler was well above 30 lbs before it got too uncomfortable to carry her. I like my sister’s Combi stroller, but it buckles under the weight of my 35lb toddler. The wheels can’t turn right if she’s in it. But its lightweight and folds up really easily and the wheels do fine with her 20 lb kiddo. J S

I like the Heart to Heart baby sling. I personally do not like the pouch type slings, I was uncomfortable wearing them as I constantly felt that the baby was going to fall out. I would recommend trying a few types out, with a baby doll to see what is most comfortable to you.
We bought the Graco travel system and love it. I like the ease of being able to take a sleeping infant out of the car, in the baby seat without waking him/her. Any travel system will allow this though. One thing to consider is the size of your trunk. I would suggest trying out different strollers and seeing how they fold up. Each is different and some are more compact than others.
I agree with other posters, about the bathtubs. We use the kitchen sink, but had the plastic tub for our first baby. Don’t spend a lot of money on this item. Allison

I prefer a homemade sling because it is sized exactly for me (and in fabric I like). I do love the Moby Wrap, but my cousin couldn’t stand it. It really is a matter of personal preference and body shape.
There is no best all-in-one stroller. They are VERY different and everybody wants different features. Just do research to determine what you want. I would personally stick with a sling and then get an umbrella stroller. I have NO INTENTION of lugging around those behemoth strollers in and out of the car.
Baby bath tubs - there are so many new ones on the market, but I don’t see that any of them are superior to putting a plastic square round edged container into the kitchen sink and using that. However, I do love the purchased ones, but whatever one someone recommends will not fit in your sink. A lot of people have complained that the folding models will leak. Doodlestuff

baby slings- not for me I have a bad back
Travel systems- huge bulky and terrible to get the stroller out of the trunk of the car. I don’t advise getting a graco car seat because they have really low crash test ratings.
We use Eddie Bauer seats because of the high crash test rating. which is good because when I totaled my car with my little girl in there she didn’t even have a scratch or bruises from the straps.
When your baby is big enough get a jeep stroller. So light and folds us small and is actually pretty good on rough trails but not 5 star.
Baby tub- they suck your baby gets cold, just use a sink. Patti
