Red car seat/stroller for a baby girl? Maybe dumb question but what do you think?

New Momma in May w/ little GIRL! asked:

A good friend gave us an awsome peg perego car seat. It is bright red, and it is really cute. I am thinking about getting the matching stroller that goes with it. However, I am having a baby girl who I am sure, will weat lots of pink all of the time. Do you think that would matter or will it clash badly and should i spend a little extra and get a different cover for it? I know I know… :) But your opinions and thoughts would help.
Thanks so much!!

Pink and red goes nice together, I don;t think you should waste the money. It irritates me how all newborn baby girl things are pink and for boys are blue. Babies need new colors. tuyet

The stroller color doesn’t matter.. at least to me it doesn’t. I have a brown travel system with green, beige, and yellow dots and I’m having a girl. I just spent almost $200 on the travel system and didn’t think I should buy a pink one then a blue one later on in case my husband and I have a boy the next time around. I plan on keeping her dressed in her pink and having a pink blanket in there with her..

Red is not a bad color for a little girl.. my husband’s cousin got a brown and blue one because she believed she was having a boy and found out she’s having a girl and it’s not going to look bad.. due 01/25/10

I would buy a new stroller with a new car seat, Remember car seats have expiration date too (Is usually located under the car seat) Antonio

I have had two daughters and they have both had two different red prams. I didnt want pink so opted for red and was always stopped and complimented me on the both prams. Nuala

I don’t think it will matter much. I was thinking of silver black and red for my baby. it’s neutral and chic. I’m sure that no one will be paying attention to the color o the stroller and the color of her clothes…they’ll just be adoring the cute baby inside. Leila

I didn’t even think about clothing matching/clashing with the car seat when I registered for one. We are having a girl but plan on having a second baby someday as well & don’t want to have all pink stuff for the girl & then baby #2 be a boy so I picked out neutral stuff. I don’t really think anyone will notice that what the baby is wearing doesn’t match her car seat & if they do who cares?

This is what I have picked out & what someone will hopefully buy me ~*~RYLEE HANNA DUE 3.18.10~*~

I don’t think it will matter. Your baby isn’t going to be in the car seat for the rest of her life. Also, it would be a pain to put on a matching cover for your child’s clothing everyday you dress them in a different color. I wouldn’t worry, no one should care, they will be more interested in the baby rather than what you made her sit in. Besides I see a lot of children wearing red and pink together anyway. I think it kind of makes them look like valentines. Sammie

The colour of the car seat/stroller/diaper bag/anything else needing mentioning here doesn’t matter.
We’re having a girl, and got a stroller as a gift. It is red, navy blue, and tan trimming. I think it’s just fine for a little girl.
Taking your baby out is not exactly a fashion show.. If you really want her to look nice, just dress her up nice (but don’t be surprised if she spits up and the effect is ruined). Digi
