When can a baby sit in an umbrella stroller?

baby stroller
whatever floats your boat asked:

I have a 7mo daughter and she weighs approx 6.5kgs (14lb something..) just wondering when the best time is to ditch the bulky pram for an upright umbrella stroller? She can support her head fine, and has for months now, problem is she might be a bit small for it..

she is very tiny in weight. my baby is 7 months old and weights 21 pounds. i have had her in an upright stroller for about 2 months now. i would say as long as you can strap her in she should be fine. i bet she would love to see the new world of sitting up in a stroller too. try it britt

I think she would be just fine in one. I have an awesome stroller that is more comfortable than an umbrella stroller but is very light. momof1

As long as she can support her head well, she will be fine. The only thing is with umbrella strollers, is that some of them don’t recline to a layback position, so if your baby falls asleep, they will get a sore neck.
I don’t think she’d be ‘too small’ because you would strap her in. Try to find one with a 5 point harness system for extra safety kαngєl

Upright umbrella stroller is fine for your baby as long as you strap her in snugly. Your index and middle finger should not be able to fit btween the straps and the baby. M L
