I would pay up to $100 for a single but up to $200 for a good double stroller. Even if I had a ton of money I wouldn’t blow a grand on a stroller…maybe 200 but a grand is silly. Mine was on sale at Zellers for $60 bucks ( regular 120 ) LovingLife!
Because people will pay anything just to have what their neighbour has. Even more if it’s perceived as better than what their neighbour has. The manufacturers can set any price they want because they know their market, and they know that that market does not think they can live without their product, so they are perfectly justified in setting any price. As long as people put up with it and keep demanding bigger, better, more features, etc., they can set their price.
To quote my dad, “Things are worth whatever you can sell them for.” Goes hand in hand with his other saying, “Things are only worth what you can sell them for.” In other words, if there’s a market for it, they can charge whatever they want, especially if it’s something people think is a necessity. If the market becomes disillusioned and no longer demands it, they have to sell it at what people will pay for it, not what they want to sell it for. Tiger Lily ☮’ful Mama
Strollers are expensive. But the truth of the matter, is that some strollers are made to be more sturdy and durable, and are made with better quality and better features. The more expensive the stroller, the better the design tends to be too.
Does anyone need a $1,000 stroller? No. But if you are buying a stroller for your first child, and you plan on having more children, I think it would be a good idea to invest in a better quality stroller so that it can be reused child after child. But even a good quality stroller does not have to exceed a couple hundred dollars. Anything beyond that would be based on preference, and not an actual need. Miss Tifa
baby strollers aren’t that expensive. if someone is willing to pay 1,000 dollars for one that is their stupidity. i am shopping for baby stuff right now and with coupons and shopping around i am getting the swing, bouncer, pack n play, and travel system all for about 600 dollars. Natasha

$1,000 really? That sounds a little crazy to me. I paid $200 for mine and it came with a car seat and the base for the car seat. miriam
